The 2018 competition is open for entries from 19 August 2017 to 30 November 2017. The competition is free to enter this year and is open to anyone under the age of 16 by the close of the call for entries period on 30 November 2017.

The Cameron Bespolka Young Bird Photographer of the Year Award aims to encourage and recognise the younger generation of birders and photographers. There are no individual subject categories to worry about; the judges will choose the image that impresses them most. If you are looking for inspiration have a look at this year's winners.


The photographer of the winning image will receive £350, a pair of Swarovski CL Pocket 8x25 binoculars and the title of Young Bird Photographer of the Year.

The runner-up will receive £200. 3rd place will receive £100.
