Running for Cameron

What a week, two incredible marathons in 6 days! What an absolute honour to get a spot at the coveted Boston Marathon where you have to qualify to enter. And at the same time receiving a Good for Age spot at the incredible London Marathon - what a challenge, how could I run both?

I took on the challenge and would run both if I was not injured, which with a heavy training load is much harder than it sounds! Training was hard with many extra-long runs back-to-back to get my body used to running additional miles on tired legs.

Running has become such a huge part of my life since losing Cameron and being part of the running community has given me great strength, mainly due to the many extraordinary people I have met.  But running 2 major marathons back-to-back, plus dealing with jet lag, was beyond doubt one of the toughest physical things I have ever done.

Running has become such a huge part of my life since losing Cameron and being part of the running community has given me great strength

Cameron was a passionate young naturalist and we created the Cameron Bespolka Trust to continue his passion and sponsor opportunities to inspire the next generation.  Running has given me a purpose.  It has enabled me to raise necessary funds to sponsor young people from every walk of life to connect with nature.

Thank you so much for all your encouragement and donations.  I am incredibly grateful to everyone who has supported me throughout my journey.  It means so much to me.
