We are delighted to announce Elliot Montieth as this year’s recipient of the Cameron Bespolka Scholarship to attend the Cornell Lab of Ornithology Birding Event in Ithaca, New York.

Elliot’s attitude and enthusiasm was second to none and we are thrilled to offer him this once in a life time opportunity. Together with 15 other young and passionate birders, he will meet Cornell’s top scientists and ornithologists in Ithaca, New York from 12th - 15th July this year.

The Young Birders Event featured:

• two days of field trips
• presentations by Cornell Lab of Ornithology staff including professors, researchers, and students who will share various ways to incorporate birds into a career
• eBird and field notes workshop
• sound recording workshop
• tour of the Cornell Lab including the Macaulay Library and Museum of Vertebrates
• dinner with Cornell Lab Directors and staff.

This trip was sponsored by the Cameron Bespolka Trust and covered flights, transfers, the whole event which includes meals, accommodation, all transportation during the weekend . Some personal spending money is all that was needed.
